Adirondack 46ers

Mountains over 4,000 feet that we've summited so far - mostly while getting fit for other bigger trekking excursions, and some just because:

17. Haystack (and Little Haystack) (#3, 4,960 feet) - May 2013 (deep snow above 3,500 feet)
16. Basin (#9, 4,827 feet) - July 2012

11. Marcy (#1; 5,344 feet) - September 2010

6. Phelps (#32; 4,161 feet) - May 2010
5. Whiteface (#5; 4,867 feet) - October 2009
4. Algonquin (#2; 5,114 feet) - September 2009
3. Cascade (#36; 4,098 feet) - October 2007, August 2009, October 2009
2. Big Slide (# 27; 4,240 feet) - October 2007, July 2010
1. Giant (#12; 4,627 feet) - Summer 2007, June 2014

And now ... we have 25 of the 46ers to go.
          Other Adirondack hikes we've done:
          • Cold Brook Pass and Indian Pass Trail
          • Boundary Peak (between Algonquin and Iroquois)
          • Avalanche Pass to Lake Colden and Flowed Lands
          • Yard Mountain (it's 4,009 feet but not listed as part of the 46ers, I think due to not having that independent prominence of 300 feet relative to Big Slide)
          • Giant Washbowl
          • Pitch Off
          • Noonmark
          • Rooster Comb
          • Owl's Head
          • Baxter
          • Heart Lake
          • Copperas Lake loop
          • Mirror Lake :)
          Some climbing areas we've explored
          • Upper and Lower Beer Walls
          • Owl's Head
          • Notch Mountain

          1. Haystack in May. Was it before the snowstorm? :)

          2. There was plenty of snow above 3,500 feet: Post holing to the hips for me! Check out the post on the adventure here: http://talkingtrails.blogspot.ca/2013/05/high-peaks-serve-up-best-back-country.html

          3. Nice trip report! I like the tea light solution :)
I hiked Phelps from the Loj that weekend and was amazed by all the snow.
Climbing all 46 is such a fun adventure!
